PortalJS offers an AI‑powered workflow: a Claude Code skill set that first advises on the appropriate infrastructure (git + R2 + Parquet + DuckDB by default, with optional CKAN or other backends), then scaffolds a Next.js application with three surfaces (Home, Catalog, Showcase). The surfaces consume data through a single DataProvider, allowing the underlying backend to change without touching the UI. The framework ships with a suite of skills for adding datasets, resources, charts, maps, and metadata, as well as for deploying to Cloudflare‑based hosting. All code is MIT‑licensed and fully open, enabling teams to own and extend their portals.
