How to play

Goal

Sink every ship in your opponent's fleet before they sink yours. Both fleets are hidden from each other — you only ever see hits and misses.

Deploy

Each player places a fleet of 5 ships on a 10x10 grid: a 5-cell Carrier, a 4-cell Battleship, two 3-cell ships (Cruiser, Submarine), and a 2-cell Destroyer. Ships can't overlap. Use Auto-deploy for an instant random layout, or place them yourself.

Battle

Players alternate firing one shot per turn at a cell on the opponent's grid:

  • Miss — empty water.
  • Hit — you struck a ship.
  • Sunk — that ship's every cell has been hit.

With the Hit and go again variant (on by default), landing a hit or sink gives you an extra shot immediately instead of passing the turn. First to sink the opponent's entire fleet wins.
