Setup
A standard 52-card deck is shuffled; each player is dealt 7 cards, and one card is turned face-up to start the discard pile (re-drawn if it's an 8).
Your turn
Play a card matching the top discard's suit or rank, or play an 8 at any time — it's wild — and declare which suit comes next.
If nothing in your hand fits, draw one card from the stock. A card that just became playable may be played immediately, or you can hold it and end your turn.
Winning
Empty your hand first and you win. In the rare case both the stock and discard pile run dry, whoever holds the lower total card value (8s count 50, face cards 10, aces 1, others their pip value) wins instead.
